MRS. LYDIA A. DETWILER
WAKARUSA: Mrs. Lydia A. Detwiler, 74, died at 7 o'clock this morning at the home of a son-in-law and daughter, Mrs. and Mrs. Robert Kent, 3 1/2 miles south of Wakarusa, where she had lived since November. She had been in failing health 5 years. Mrs. Detwiler was born July 15, 1869, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Mishler, one-half mile south of Foraker. Her marriage to Enos Detwiler took place in August, 1905. He died in 1933.
In addition to the daughter, survivors include a son, Noble Detwiler, of near Foraker; 3 step-children, Walter Detwiler of Goshen, Harve Detwiler and Mrs. Bertha Tavernier of Elkhart, a brother, Levi Mishler, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Saylor, both of Goshen.
The body will be taken from the Rohrer funeral home at New Paris Wednesday noon to the Noble Detwiler home, where a short prayer service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, followed by a service at 2:30 at the South West MBC church, of which she was a member. The Revs. Simon Moore of Mishawaka and Delmer Horn, pastor, will be in charge. Burial will be in Evangelical Chapel cemetery, near the Yellow Creek Mennonite church.
