Lewis Mishler, 81, life long resident of Elkhart county, died at five o'clock last Thursday morning at the home of daughter, Mrs Albert Walter, five miles west of New Paris. His death was caused by heart trouble after an illness of seven days.

Mr Mishler was born in Benton township, April 28, 1853, the son of George and Susan Mishler.

His wife, Sarah Rummel Mishler, died April 23, 1927.

Mr Mishler was a member of the Trinity Baptist church.

Surviving in addition to the daughter at whose home he died are another daughter, Mrs Mervin Wise, of New Paris; one son, Oliver Mishler, of near Nappanee, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild; a brother, Levi Mishler, of Southwest; and three sisters, Mrs Sarah Kirkdorfer and Mrs Enos Detweiler, both of Goshen; and Mrs Mary Saylor, of near Goshen.

Funeral services were held from the Union Center church Saturday afternoon at two o'clock and burial made in the adjoining cemetery.
