Mrs. Alice Jennette Austin, 66, of Buxton, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 29, 1976 in the Albemarle Hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of Buxton. She was a member of the Buxton Assembly of God Church and was employed as secretary at the Falcon Motel in Buxton.

She was the daughter of the late Baxter and Lula Midgette Jennette and the wife of the late Chester Austin, Sr.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Melita Johnson of Buxton; two sons, Chester Austin, Jr. of Norfolk, Va. and Harry Austin of Buxton; one sister, Mrs. Doris Stirling of Buxton; two brothers, Ike Jennette and Clarence Jennette, both of Buxton; 8 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday in the Buxton Assembly of God Church by the Rev. John Spry, pastor. Burial will follow in the family cemetery. The body will be taken from Twiford's Island Chapel, Hatteras, to the church to lie in state until time of the funeral. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Melita Johnson, Buxton.
