Rev. Aubrey Moore Interment Made At Lizton Monday

Widely Known Christian Minister Formerly Lived Near Maplewood

Funeral services for the Rev. Aubrey H. Moore of Noblesville were held Monday afternoon at the First Christian church in that city in charge of Revs. Joel Lee Jones, E. E. Moorman and A. L. Ward, all of Indianapolis. Burial was in the K. of P. cemetery at Lizton.

The Rev. Mr. Moore had been ill since he and Mrs. Moore had returned recently from the international convention of the Disciples of Christ church in Denver, and died Friday afternoon, following an operation in the Methodist hospital, Indianapolis, for a brain tumor.

He was born in Patrick county, Virginia, the son of James and Lucinda Moore, and moved with his family to this county near Maplewood, when 11 years of age. He received his education in the public and high schools of this county and was graduated from Butler university in 1911.

Following his graduation, his first pastorate was at Arcadia. He later went to Zionsville and Tipton, where he stayed for seven years. He was then called to Noblesville, where he served his first pastorate at the Noblesville Christian church in 1926, before serving the Seventh Christian church in Indianapolis, where he remained until last year. Rev. and Mrs. Moore were engaged in evangelistic work for one year, and last April was again called to the church in Noblesville, which place he held at the time of his death.

The Rev. Mr. Moore was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Tipton and held honorary membership in the North Park Lodge, No. 40, F. & A. M. in Indianapolis, and was also a member of the Kiwanis club of Tipton. He had served city and state religious organizations in various capacities.

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Mabel Parker Moore, who was also from near Maplewood, to whom he was married in 1907, one son, Ruell Moore of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. T. V. Barnard of Omaha, Nebraska, and Mrs. Elmer Gentry of this place and three grandchildren. A daughter, Miss Joanna Beth Moore, died ten years ago, and another child in infancy.
