Samuel M. Gossman, a retired roofing company employee, died Nov. 18, 1996, of cancer at age 80.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22 in St. Johns Funeral Home.
Born in Aberdeen, S.D., Sept. 28, 1916, his family moved to Seattle and then Portland in 1920.
Mr. Gossman served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946. He retired from Southeast Roofing in 1973.
He married Irene *Roe in 1975. Surviving are his wife; son, Danny of Portland; stepsons, Richard Hansen of Beaverton and Ronald Hansen of Gaithersburg, Md.; stepdaughter, Arlene Anderson of Kenai, Alaska; sisters Doris Ogden and Nellie Cook, both of Tigard; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family suggests remembrances to Kaiser Hospice or Hopewell House.
NOTE: Irene's maiden name was ROE. In 1975 she was Irene HANSEN.
