Carl Durrence Beloved Citizen Died Thursday
Carl Durrence,75, Died last Thursday at Glenvue Nursing Home in Glennville after a long illness.
The Tattnall County native was a retired merchant.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. M.D. Waters of Reidsville, Mrs. Annette Oliver, Mrs. Edsel C. Durrence, Mrs. W.F. Durrence, Mrs. Mandell Dutton and Mrs. R.L. Dasher, all of Glennville; three sons, L.P. Durrence and Elton Durrence, both of Glennville and Gene Durrence of Claxton; his step mother, Mrs. Nicy Durrence of Glennville; a sister, Mrs. Thelma Bacon of Glennville; Two brothers, Lee and Willie C. Durrence, both of Glennville; two step sisters, Mrs. Kate Rush and Mrs. Easter Tibbets, both of Glennville; a foster sister, Mrs. T.H. Deal of Jesup; twenty five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Beard's Creek Primitive Baptist Church, conducted by Elder Gerald Proctor and Rev. Sedwick Welchel. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were G.L. Durrence, Joe Rush, jerry Dutton, Billy Shuman, Juan Durrence and Delmas Rushing, Jr.
Rimes Mortuary of Glennville was in charge .
