After years of decline, Lucille Suiter Baggett was called home June 9, 2011 at the age of 82. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Charles R. (Reppie) Suiter and Hattie Mary Rye Suiter; her husband of over fifty years, Clay Baggett, Jr.; her youngest daughter, Connie (Bill) Pendergrass; her only sibling, Janet Suiter Carlson. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory will be in charge of services. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday at Sykes Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Wesley officiating. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Saturday and 1 p.m. until the hour of service on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial in Antioch UMC Cemetery. Lucille is survived by her daughter, Carol (Gary) Atkins; grandchildren, Leslie Atkins, and Kent (Deana) Atkins; great grandsons, Zackary Mooneyhan and Barrett Atkins; two beloved nieces and beloved nephews. She is also survived by the daughter of her heart, Pat Rye Martin. Lucille led a Christian life all of her time on this earth and was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife, a loving and nurturing mother, a thrifty homemaker, and she acted as a nurse and caregiver for several terminallly ill family members. She was always ready for a picnic or a fishing jaunt or to spend time with her children.
