Petronella Margaretha Bult was born in March 1869 in Chicago, daughter of Peter Bult and Petronella Margaretha De Wit, both born in the Netherlands.

On 7 August 1867 her father Peter Bult (36, labourer), her mother Peternella (38), her older siblings Aris (13), Nultje (10), Albert (8), Pieter (6), Deeswertze (3), Frans (2) and Hendrick (5 months), all born in the Netherlands, province Noord-Holland, arrived on the ship Villa Franca, which departed from London, England, at the port of New York.

Peternelly M Bult married on 7 October 1891 in the Dutch truck farmers settlement Roseland, nowadays a southern neighborhood of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois at the age of 22 years to the four years older Arie Blom, who had Dutch parents too. Minister J.W. Dunnewold was officiating.
They had 8 children together.

In June 1900 Petronelle (39 y [should be: 31 y], born in March 1861 [should be: 1869] in Illinois), her husband Arie Blom (36, September 1864 [should be: 1865], Holland, immigrated in 1880 [should be: 1882], merchant grocer), their children Tadij (8, July 1892, Illinois), Peter (6, September 1894) Illinois), Jacob (4, June 1896, Illinois) and Petronelle (2, Juy 1898, Illinois) were living in a rented home at 10902 Wentworth Ave, Calumet Township, Ward 34, in the southern part of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. In April 1940 Petronella (72) and her husband Arie Blom (74, no occupation) were still living at 18287 Ada St., Lansing, Cook County, Illinois. They lived in 1935 at the same house. Right next to them, at number 12289, their son Arie Blom Jr (32, Illinois, truck driver at a laundry company) was living at a rented home with his wife Minnie (33, Iowa) and their daughters Marilyn (4, Indiana) and Karen Lee (5 months, Indiana). Her husband Arie Blom passed away in July 1943 at the age of 77 years at St. Margaret's Hospital in Hammond, Lake County, in the utter northwestern part of Indiana. Widow Petronella died in September 1947 in Lansing at the age of 78 years. In her death record was stated that she was born on 2 March 1869 instead of 9 March 1869, what her headstone says.
They were both buried in Homewood Memorial Gardens, just west of Lansing, Thornton Township, Cook County, Illinois.
