Thompson Falls - John Jacob Fishbaugh, 85, a lifelong resident of Thompson Falls, passed away Wednesday, April 1, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho of medical complications.
John was born Oct. 4, 1913, in Carter to Isaac and Vercie Spath Fishbaugh. There were 13 children in the family.
He is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Dennis Lyght of Thompson Falls, Susan and Ronald Davenport of Bellingham, Wash., Debbie and Richard Svitak of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Pauline and Bob Combs of Penrose, Colo., and Delilah and Arthur Moore of Llano, Calif.; and two sons, Robert Fishbaugh and wife Donna of Chester, and Johnny of Cascade. He has 27 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Alice Randall of Great Falls and Marybell Ward of Indiana; and four brothers, Thomas of Great Falls, Forest of Portland, Ore., and Clark and Donald of Indiana.
John will be remembered for his love for life and the love and devotion he had for his family and friends. He worked most of his life and enjoyed every minute of it. At the time of his death, he was employed by the Sanders County Refuse District. The memories of John will be remembered by each and everyone who knew him. He will be missed.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 5, at the Coffelt-Bunch Funeral Chapel in Thompson Falls.
Services will be 3 p.m. on Monday, April 6 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Thompson Falls with the Rev. Jim Pladson officiating. Interment will follow at Whitepine Cemetery.
