Bernita Beal, daughter of Elmer [Winfield] Beal and Cassie Ashcraft Beal was born west of Bedford, Iowa. She grew to maturity in the Bedford area where she graduated from Bedford schools. She was a long time member of the Bedford Methodist Church.
She, along with her brother, Elvin, farmed in the Blockton area for many years.
Bernita was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Arlie [Burdette], Elvin and William.
Left to cherish her memory are her niece, Agnes Hemenway of New Berlin, WI and Arleta Umphenour of Beatrice, NE; also her cousins, Sandra Morlennsen of Raymond, NE and Ed Beal of Portland, OR.
