Mr. Eugene "Gene" Revell from Rochester, MN, formerly of Fargo, North Dakota died at the age of 95 on June 7, 2005, at the Samaritan Bethany Heights in Rochester.

He was born on January 29, 1910, in Harvey, North Dakota. In his senior year of high school, he moved to Fargo, ND. He graduated from Fargo Central High School then proceeded to the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND and graduated in 1933.

He married Dorothy E. Tompkins on September 17, 1934, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. They moved to Detroit, Michigan, for several years then moved back to Fargo to raise their family and to run a business called Gene-5 Spot's Restaurant in Fargo.

In 2000 they moved to Shorewood Senior Apartments in Rochester, MN.

In the 1980's he was inducted into the Hall of Fame football team of 1933 at the University of North Dakota. He received the University of North Dakota "Sioux Award" in the 70's for Distinguished Service and Outstanding Achievement. He was also past president of the 1951 Fargo Rotary Club.

He loved watching the University of North Dakota football, hunting with his grandchildren in North Dakota, his garden, reading and traveling world wide with his lovely wife of 70 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, who died in March of 2005. He is survived by his daughter, Ann (Bruce) Larson of Rochester, MN; sister-in-law, Marilynn (Gordon) Brant of Fargo, ND; 6 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral: Private Memorial Service, Tues. June 21, 2005, at 4:00 pm at Calvary Episcopal Church in Rochester with Rev. Nicklas Mezacapa officiating.

Cemetery: Calvary Episcopal Columbarium.
