50 Years, Dead
Arthur L. Gilcher, 910 Kirkpatrick st., operator of a North Side barber shop for 50 years, died last night at his home after a long illness.
Born in Pennsylvania, Mr. Gilcher was a Syracuse resident 67 years. He was a member of the men's Club of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church and a former member of the church council.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Louise Hern Gilcher; a son, Edward Gilcher of Denver, Colo.; a brother, Charles F. Gilcher; a sister, Miss Lynda Gilcher; a granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the George W. Ballweg Funeral Home and at 2:30 p.m. in Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, the Rev. Donald Prigge officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and Sunday.
