Note August 21, 2016 (Jan Dishon):

THE PHOTO POSTED IS JAMES A. AND MARY MORRISON LINN. THEY ARE THE SON AND DAUGHTER IN LAW OF ANDREW AND MARTHA (POLK) LINN. THIS PHOTO IS POSTED ON NUMEROUS ANCESTRY FAMILY TREES AS BEING ANDREW AND MARTHA (POLK) LINN AND THIS IS NOT TRUE. JAN DISHON HAS THE ORIGINAL PHOTO.

Also posted on numerous Ancestry Family Trees is information that Andrew Linn's parents were John and Mary (Gettys) Linn. This also is in error. If you look at the information posted it states John Gettys was born in the United States and died in the United States, not Ireland.

Andrew's parents were Patrick and Mary Linn and they are buried in Cumber Parish, County Derry, Ireland.

Based on DNA results I believe that our very early Linns originated in Scotland.

Andrew Linn, Sr. was born on August 6th, 1768, in Cumber Parish, County Derry, Ireland. He married his Wife Martha P. Linn on February 4th, 1792. Martha P.
