Esther L. Mullins, "The Hat Lady," 91, former Monte Vista resident died Saturday, May 28, 2011 in Loveland, Colorado. Esther was born June 19, 1919 in Monte Vista, Colorado to Orbra and Lida Pearl David.
Esther Married J. C. Mullins. She enjoyed working as an office clerk, dancing, and helping at the Methodist Church. Esther really loved the San Luis Valley and spent the majority of her life in it. She also loved flowers, especially petunias and enjoyed listening to country music from Johnny Cash and Glen Campbell. Family and friends were important to Esther.
Preceding Esther in death were her husband, her parents, two daughters, five brothers, and one sister.
Esther is survived by her grandchildren Nikki [Mike] Hartman of Loveland and Shawn Greenwell of Monte Vista and four great grandsons.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Monte Vista followed by graveside services at the Monte Vista Cemetery. Arrangements made by Strohmayer's Funeral Home.
