A true and just inventory and Appraisement of all the personal Estate of Alexander Blain dec'd which was produced to us by James E. Blain his adm.

I do certify that this Inventory contains all the personal estate of Alexander Blain dec'd which hath come to my hands this 5th day of Jan 1844.

....The undersigned Commissioners for Lincoln County met at the Law office of R. Blain in Stanford on Thursday Oct 14, 1847 and proceeded to make a settlement for Jas E Blain admr of Alex Blain dec'd with the legatees of said estate.
We find that each distribution herein said estate as per settlement made by the same on the 17th day of Dec 1846.
To Thomas Blain legatee $186.11
To Samuel Blain legatee $186.11
To Polly Gooch $186.11
To CK Yocum & wife $186.11
To John Blain $186.11
To Geo. A Blain $186.11
The Commissioners would state that the admr is entitled as a legatee to one share to wit the sum of $186.11
And the remaining share of R W Blain by a decree of the Lincoln Circuit Court was attached in the hands of the admr by R Blain -- and by sd Courts decree said admr was directed to pay over the funds in his hands due sd R W Blain to Robert Blain in which amt sd receipts are filed......

It must be understood that there were many other Justices in the county in the early times referred to, besides those whose names have been mentioned, new ones having been appointed from time to time by the Governor of Virginia, upon recommendation of the Court. Among these may be mentioned, Wm. Craig, Abraham Bowman, Isaac Shelby (afterwards Governor of Kentucky), John Snoddy, Christopher Irvine, William Montgomery, Hugh Logan, Alexander Blain, James Davis, Walker Baylor, and others.
