MORMON RITES FOR H.W. PETERSON OF RED MOUNTAIN

Funeral services for Hans Willard Peterson, of Red Mountain, were conducted Monday afternoon at the American Legion Hall in Randsburg.

Elders La Marr E. Hadley and Othello Smith of the Church of Latter Day Saints officiated.

Interment was in Rand District Cemetery at Johannesburg. Pallbearers were Glenn Hatton, Bob Franich, Marion Rollins, Ruton Hatton, Dan Franich and Denzil Johnson. O'Donnell

Funeral Home of Barstow were the undertakers in charge.

Mr. Peterson passed away Friday, October 22,(1948) at 8:20 a.m. at his home in Red Mountain, following a period of hospitalization.

Born March 12, 1884, in Desert, Utah, he was 64 years old.

The Peterson family has resided in Red Mountain for the past 15 years, coming here from Utah in 1933. His first years in Rand District were spent at mining and he was employed at the Naval Ordnance Test Station in recent years.

Surviving members of his immediate family are his widow, Mrs. Mary Peterson, of Red Mountain, four sons, Dean and Everett of Nevada City, Lavone of Trona, and Thurman of Red Mountain; and two daughters, Mrs. Loraine Donker of Santa Monica and Margie of Red Mountain. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Annie Skeems, of Oasis, Utah, and Mrs. Minnie Stubbert of Ruth Nevada; a brother Peter and neice, Mrs. Kelly Hawley of Oasis, Nevada. He is survived also by twelve grandchildren.

Attending the services from outside this area were Mrs. Mary Willyard of Inglewood, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Stowe of Inglewood, and mrs. Kelly Hawley and Peter Peterson of Oasis,Utah. All the deceased's children and families were present.
