GRANBURY, TX - James "Shorty" Stroud, 91, a retired city of Granbury electrical department employee, died Saturday, October 2, 1999, in Granbury. Graveside service: 4 p.m. Tuesday in Granbury Cemetery. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Wiley Funeral Home.

James Stroud was born October 6, 1907, in Rule. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church. He loved fishing and woodworking. He had lived in Granbury most of his life.

Survivors: Daughters, Ruth Thompson and Ada Robertson, both of Granbury; sisters, Wanda Fisk of Temple and Mary Arnold of Garland; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
