Olaf "Ole" Flaget, 98, of Ellensburg, WA, a retired Electrical Foreman for the City of Ellensburg, passed away June 5, 2011, at his home.

He was born Feb. 8, 1913, in Doyne, ND. He grew up in Montana where he also met and married his wife.

"Ole" worked as a lineman building power lines from Montana to Idaho and Washington. Later he worked for the City of Ellensburg as an Electrical Foreman until his retirement.

He was a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge and was active in Field & Stream.

"Ole" enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping and dancing. He loved his family and friends.

He is survived by daughters, Gina Landa of Plains, MT, Mel Messinger of Ellensburg, WA, and Chris Wagner of Plains, MT; sons, Alan Flaget of Cashmere, WA, Larry Flaget of Ellensburg, WA, and David Flaget of Clark Fork, ID; sisters, Mollie Gibson of Eureka, MT, Elsie Ward of Kent, WA, Cleila Presnell and Jenny Matson of Cut Bank, MT, and Mary Leonard of Potlatch, ID; brother, Carl Flaget of Kalispell, MT; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna, in 1982; daughters, Fay Brown and Cheryl Flaget; sisters, Josie Johnson and Helen Brecke; brother, Jonnie Flaget; and grandsons, Chad Messinger and Olan Brown.

A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, June 9, at Steward & Williams Tribute Center. Burial will be in High Valley Cemetery. A reception will be held following the burial at the American Legion in Ellensburg.
