Stancil was the son of Arvel and Ethel Grizzle Warren on 23 jun 1938 in Coopers Creek Section, of Fannin County, Georgia. Like other boys of our time he grew up working on the farm. He went to school in the earlier years in Fannin County and later on moving to Union County and going there. He and Carmell met in Atlanta while they were working there. They married and had two sons, Eric Stancil (Ricky) and Terry Warren. Carmell and Stancil lived in the Atlanta area from the time they were married until his death. He a the family were vacationing on Nottely Lake in Union County. One them had dropped an paddle in the water and he decided that he go pick it up after letting the others out of the boat. He went back up the lake when the paddle was and pulled up beside the paddle where he could pick it up. When he bent over the engine controls they were pushed wide open. He was thrown from the boat plus it was at that time running wide open in circles. He was hit by the boat which dislocated his sholder and he drown. I was a tragic ordeal. He was buried at New Harmony Baptist Cemetery.
