Harry O. Leight, Former Fire Captain, Dies

Harry O. Leight, 71, of 302 S. Monroe St., former Butler fire captain, died suddenly at 7 a.m. today at his residence.

Born in Butler, Jan. 13, 1904, he was the son of the late A.H. and Florence Alice Hauck Leight.

He was captain of South Side Station Fire Station until his retirement in 1969.

Mr. Leight was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Butler Lodge 272F and AM.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Campbell (Beatrice) McDowell and Mrs. Earl (Maxine) Wheeler, both of Butler; two brothers, Roy M. Leight of Butler, and Lloyd E. Leight of Rochester, N.Y.; two grandchildren, and anumber of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son.

Friends of Harry O. Leight, of 302 S. Monroe St., who died Monday, Feb. 3, 1975, will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Tuesday, and Wednesday. Funeral services will be Thursday from the funeral home. Burial will be in North Cemetery.
