Ramona ("Mona") was a life-long animal lover and animal welfare advocate. She rescued many abused and neglected animals, and was always the first person to be called when a neighbor had a stray or injured animal. She loved the arts, particularly dancing and music. She taught dancing at the Arthur Murray Dance Studios in Nashville in the 1950's. She had a beautiful singing voice and acted in Wichita Community Theater and Kechi Playhouse productions. Ramona owned and operated an antique store, Cherishables, in Kechi and Andover for almost 30 years. Ramona embodied compassion and sensitivity. She was loved and adored by her 7 children and all who knew her; she is deeply missed.

Ramona L., 80, died Thursday, December 30, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Goodman; daughter, Pam Goodman. Ramona was an antique shop owner for 25 years, community theater performer, and animal welfare activist. Visitation 6-8 p.m., Monday, January 3, 2011; funeral service 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 4, 2011, both at Lakeview Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Kansas Humane Society.
