Mrs. Clarissa La Follette.

Mrs. Clarissa La Follette died yesterday, and the funeral will be held at the residence of Mr. John W. Lyle, 1918 Capitol avenue, this afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. J, W. Conley, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating. Mrs. Follette was born in Maysville, Ky., September 15, 1812. She came to Omaha in 1865, and was an important help in building up the city. She was one of the organizers of the First Baptist church, and for a number of years was the Baptist missionary for this district. Her father, Colonel Philip Adkins, served with distinction during the war of 1812. Governor La Follette of Wisconsin is a relative. Mrs. La Follette had been living with her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Lyle.

Funeral of Mrs. La Follette.

The funeral of Mrs. Clarissa La Follette, familiarly known to her many friends as “Aunty” La Follette, was held Sunday afternoon at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. John W. Lyle, 1918 Capitol avenue. This has been her home for a number of years. Rev. J. W. Conley of the First Baptist church, of which she was one of the organizers, officiated. Music was furnished by the choir of the same church. There were many beautiful floral tributes from her host of friends and acquaintances. The pall bearers, all young men whom she has known since childhood, were W. E. Rhoades, Wallace Shane, V. O. Strickler, J. H. Daniels, Charles Morgan and Charles Jacobs.
