Son of Elijah Avery and, based on Caleb's age at death and calculated birth year, an unknown first wife. His father married Prudence (Avery) Morgan c1770/1772.

He married, first, Eunice _____. Some have said his first wife was Prudence Avery, but this is in confusion with his father's second wife. She died in 1810.

He married, second, widow Eunice (Avery) Johnson.

He left no children.
