Paul H. Painter, 72, of 138 E. Shirley St., Mount Union, died at 5:45 this Wednesday morning, April 20, 1977 at the J.C.Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, where he had been a patient since Saturday. His death followed an illness of one month. Born June 7, 1904 at Three Springs R.D. Cromwell Township, he was a son of John and Louisa (Hammond) Painter, On December 22, 1923, her married the former Myrtle Barron. Surviving are his widow and the following children; Mrs. Clair (Thelma) Myers, Mrs. Marlyn (Lois) Price, Robert, Orlando and Mrs. Doris Miller, all of Mount Union; Lester, Center Valley and Mrs. Dean (Donna)Ramsey, Shirleysburg, There are 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and two sister, Earl, Rockhill, Floyd, and Mrs Robert (Dorothy) Wilson, both of Orbisonia and Mrs. Owen (Pearl) Stenson, Three Springs, R.D. Three sisters and one brother preceded in death. The deceased was a member of the Allenport Church of God. He belonged to the Adult Sunday School Class and served on the Church Council. He was also a charter member of the Allenport Lions Club. Until 1952, he was employed at the Silica Brickyard, Mount Union. For many years, he sold Rawleigh Products, and for the past 17 years, he was affiliated with his son in the operation of Painter's Service Station, Mount Union. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, from the Heath funeral home, Mount Union. The Rev. Dale Cannada and the Rev. Paul Walker will officiate, burial will be in Jordan Cemetery. Friends will be received at the the funeral home from noon to 9 p.m. Friday, and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time for services.
