Andrew Jackson Savage, as he was listed on his Death Certificate, was also seen in several other records of his day with his name in variations of James Andrew Savage. A 1956 transcription of the cemetery lists him as J. Andy Savage. It is generally agreed that he did go by Andy.

Andy was the son of James Savage and Rhoda Ann (Sneed?) Savage. They were the parents of a large family.

On 5 Dec 1880, Andy Savage was married to Mary Caroline "Molly" Ford, the daughter of Rufus L. Ford and Elizabeth Jane Ann (Aldridge) Ford, of Greene Co., MO. The children of Andy and Mary Savage were listed in the family Bible of Rufus and Jane Ann Ford as follows:
Eldridge L. Savage born October 2, 1882
Jimmie C. Savage born November 27, 1884
Willie L. Savage born November 12, 1886
Corda V. Savage born August 5, 1888

Mary Caroline Savage died on May 15, 1889. In 1900, two of her sons, Eldridge and William, can be seen in the census living with their Ford grandparents, Rufus and Jane Ann. Also in 1900, Corda V. Savage is seen living with her aunt, the sister of her father Andy Savage, namely Cintha J. Savage Fish and her husband William Fish.

Eldridge Lee Savage was married to Sadie Belle VanZant. The family of 6 lived in Denver, CO, for many years. Sadie died in 1952, and is buried in Denver. Eldridge was a blacksmith, and lived at least until 1945, as seen in the Denver 1945 business directory. Corda V. Savage was married to Joseph Miller and they were the parents of 3 children prior to her death in 1912. She was listed in the 1900 census as Corda V. Savage, but began going by Alice V. Savage at some point, and is so listed on her Death Certificate and grave marker.

After the death of his first wife Mary, Andy Savage was married to Laura L. "Lue" Cavner. They were the parents of several children. They made their home in Barry Co., MO, for many years, and both Andy and Lue are buried there.
