Funeral Service Friday For Russell Duling, Well-Known Resident
Russell Duling, a well known businessman and prominent citizen of Spencer and Owen County for many years, died early Monday morning, August 3, in the Bloomington Hospital. Mr. Duling, who was 73 years old, lived on the Freeman Road, Route 3, Spencer.
He was born at Freedom September 19, 907, the son of Ross Duling and Bertha Burkett Duling.
He owned and operated Duling's D X Station in Spencer 23 years. In 1964 he retired and has been engaged in farming since that time.
November 27, 1929, he married Louise Fiscus. They were married at Freedom with the Rev. Arthur Schenck performing the ceremony.
At that time Mr. Duling was employed as a draftsman for the Indiana Limestone Company, and then for ten years he was an employee of Johnson's Creamery in Bloomington.
He was a member of the Spencer Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to his wife Louise Duling, he is survived by his daughter, Delores Vaughn of Spencer; his son, James R. Duling, R.R. 3, Spencer; his sister, Wilma Townsend of Spencer; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Francis Maudlin; one brother, Howard Duling, and a grandsom, Stephen Vaughn.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the SPencer Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. M. D. Sartin and the Rev. Chester Todd will be the officiating ministers.
Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after seven o'clock Wednesday.
