Earl was born on July 17, 1924, to Earl Rand Sr. and Alice Mae (Treadwell) Trout in rural Parsons and attended Woods School in that area. With the coming of the Kansas Ordnance Plant, the family relocated to rural Galesburg to the farm where Earl lived for almost 70 years.
On March 2, 1947, he married Anna Lee Trammell, "the best thing that ever happened to me," and after 56 years of marriage she preceded him in death in 2003.
A farmer all his life, Earl enjoyed sharing the bounty of his farm and garden with family and friends, many of whom also benefited from his wisdom.
Earl is survived by by three close-knit sisters,
Lois Emery of Tonganoxie,
Nola Fisher of Parsons
and Betty Young of Leavenworth;
two daughters, Jan (Jay) King and Keri (Larry) Lee;
10 grandchildren

Earl was preceded in death by two sons, Randy Trout and Jon "Kim" Trout; three brothers; Harold Trout, Raymond Trout, Leland Trout; and a sister, Thelma Trout.
A graveside service was at 11 a.m. Friday at Valley Cemetery west of Lake Parsons. Friends may call the Carson-Wall Funeral Home at their convenience.
