Mrs. Anna (Hartman) Eckels, wife of W.P. Eckels, deceased, who departed this life Dec. 12, 1910, was a daughter of Christian and Anna (Gantz) Hartman, and was born June 9, 1832. She was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran church (sic) for a period of over sixty years, and also a teacher in the Sunday school for many years, also a member of the Woman's Home and Foreigh (sic) Missionary Society. She attended church service as long as she was able.
She was a kind and loving mother and grandmother; of a very amiable disposition. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. She lived a consistent Christian life.
The following children survive: Emma C. Kapp, Samuel E. Eckels, of New Kingston, and Bessie M. Otto, of Boiling Springs. Ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive to mourn her loss; but we know our loss is her eternal gain. E.C.K.

The funeral of Mrs. Anna Hartman Eckels, widow of W.P. Eckels, took place this afternoon at 2 o'clock at New Kingston. Services were held in St. Stephen's Lutheran Church and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.N. Grubb. Burial was made in the cemetery adjoining the church. The services were attended by a large circle of friends from Harrisburg. Mrs. Eckels died Monday at 10 a.m., aged 78 years. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Emma Capp (sic) and S.E. Eckels, New Kingston, and Mrs. Elizabeth Otto, Boiling Springs.
