My cousin John Nash "MOOSE" Somers was 55 years old when he passed after an illness. He was the son of the late Wellington Somers and Mildred Nash Somers; husband of Eleanor Dalpe-Somers. Raised in Lansingburgh (Troy,NY) and Waterford, John was a graduate of Waterford-Halfmoon High School. He was a Navy veteran and served in the Vietnam War from 1963-69. He worked at the Mohawk Paper Company in Waterford for 32 years. His hobbies were boating, fishing, hunting, baseball and football (especially the NY Yankees and NY Giants).

At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, Eleanor, a son Richard, a daughter Kara; four brothers, Robert, Wellington (Bill), Donald and Jeff Somers; three sisters, Jacqueline Savoca, Sue Bushey and Carol Hoeffer. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard.
