Helena Independent, 8/17/1932, page 5: Civil War Veteran Will Be Buried at Wolf Creek Today. Funeral services for Ebenezer Johnson, 88, veteran of the Civil war, who died Monday at Fort Harrison, will be held at 9 o'clock this morning from the St. Helena cathedral. Burial will be in the Wolf Creek cemetery. Opp and Conrad are in charge. Mr. Johnson was a member of Wadsworth post, Grand Army of the Republic. He enlisted in the Civil war as a private in Company H, 51st Illinois infantry, and served until 1866 when he was discharged. He had been a rancher near Wolf Creek for a number of years prior to his retirement several years ago. Mr. Johnson was admitted to the hospital at Fort Harrison May 6, but had been a patient there before. He was also a patient at the hospital at Fort Snelling, Minn., a year ago for a short time. Members of the G.A.R. will have charge of the rites at the graveside.
