A funeral Mass for Robert H. Schroeder 86, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Holy Cross Church in Batavia.
He will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. The Rev. David Huber will officiate.
Born Oct. 12, 1912, in Abingdon, Ill., the son of Emil and Maude (McClelland) Schroeder, he passed away Thursday, March 25, 1999, at Provena Pine View Care Center. Interment will be in East Batavia Cemetery.
Robert was employed at the Challenge Company in Batavia from 1929 to 1949.
He then worked at Mooseheart from 1949 until his retirement in 1974. He was a member of Holy Cross Church in Batavia and The Loyal Order of Moose, Batavia Lodge #682.
He is survived by his brothers, George (Kathleen) Schroeder of Batavia and Fred (Marjorie) Schroeder of Batavia; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harry and Walter Schroeder; and sister, Agnes Schultz.
Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home, where a liturgical wake service will be held at 1:30 Saturday, p.m.
