Family and friends will always remember Mrs. Hood's passion for Nursing. After graduating from Georgia Baptist School of Nursing, she devoted her life to helping others. Her career as a registered nurse included many areas of devotion from operating room nurse to administrator within the Georgia Department of Human Resources. She retired from Central State Hospital and then continued her dedication as Director of Nursing at Nursing Homes in Jeffersonville, Dublin, and in Colorado. Once retired, Mrs. Hood enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Hood is survived by: Daughter, Judy Hood Mecca, Granddaughter, Melissa Lauren Mecca and Grandson, Anthony Victor Mecca, all of Colorado. Sister, Janice Marie Zimmerman of Florida. Sister-in-law, Doris Hood McVaugh of Delaware. Other relatives also survive.
