Florence Rebecca Harp, was the fifth child of William Alfred and Ella Waller Harp. She was born on February 1, 1886, on the "lower plantation", in the Hootenville District of Upson County, Georgia. She passed away on August 10, 1979, in Thomaston, Georgia. She married Benjamin Stanley Peurifoy in October, 1905, at her parents home on Barnesville Street. After their marriage, they moved into the 18th century Peurifoy Plantation near Yatesville, Upson County, Georgia. Florence Rebecca, was affectionately called, "Flossie" and was a talented and successful painter, studying under the supervision of Ms. Georgia Zorn, a well known and accomplished painter from Thomaston. "Flossie" was a jolly and loveable person and her "wit" endeared her to all. She is buried beside her husband in the Southview Cemetery in Thomaston.
