OWENTON, Aug. 13. --- J. H. (Hawk) Threlkeld, 77, farmer and merchant of Long Ridge, Owen County, died Friday night in the Owen County Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was a member of the Long Ridge Baptist Church, Odd Fellows Lodge, and Masonic Order. He had operated a genera store at Long Ridge for more than 40 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Maddox Threlkeld; a brother, Dr. Elmer Threlkeld, Warsaw; two sisters, Mrs. Eunice Ransdell and Mrs. Jessie Florence Roland, both of near Owenton and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Gladys Threlkeld, Lexington.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at the Kemper-Coates Funeral Home here by the Rev. John Bledsoe. Burial will be in Owenton Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home.
