Floyd Bailey lived in Lyons Township, Mills County, from shortly after the Civil War until about 1911. During the Civil War Floyd served with Co A West Virginia Infantry.

In 1880 he was united in marriage with Mary Doran of Mills County. To this union eight children were born. Known children are John, James, Andrew, George, Will, Ellen, and Mary.

Floyd Bailey came to his death by his own hands during temporary derangement brought on by physical suffering. He was 82 years of age.
