Son of the late Noah L. Taylor and Anna Pearl Reynolds Bell, he was the widower of Mable Strayhorn Taylor. Additionally, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Judge Bell; four sisters and one brother. He was survived by one son, Calvin Taylor (Jeweelean); two brothers, Thomas Taylor (Artensia) and Noah L. Taylor (Sarah); one sister, Florence Connor (Harold); three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and an extended family of relatives. His funeral was held on Janaury 24, 2008, at Union Grove Baptist Church in Puryear, TN, with The Rev. Leroy Brent officiating.
