Raymond Ray Skains was born April 28, 1928 in Trinity, Texas to Lee and Mary Campbell Skains and passed away January 13, 2007 in Conroe, Texas. He will be missed by all his friends that he loved to meet at the Texan and have coffee. He also enjoyed wood working, lawn care work, bottle collecting and antique collecting. He was adored by his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Martha Nell of 51 years of the home, daughter Wendy Skains of Huntsville, daughter Shannon Sims and husband William DeLaney Sims of Sugar Land, grandchildren; Martha Lynn Sims and Benjamin DeLaney Sims, along with sisters; Maydell Howard of Houston, Myriene Hansen of The Woodlands, and three brother-in-laws; Kenneth Langley, Ed Langley and Frank Robinson and mumerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Leola Collins and brother Werner Skains.
Services will be held Thursday January 18, 2007 at 10 AM in the Chapel of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home . Interment will be at Brooke Cemetery under the direction of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday January 17, 2007 from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
