Husband of Jane Pye. He died in 1870 from a saw accident on Hon. A.B. Conger's farm. The wooden fly-wheel on Conger's saw machine broke to pieces and struck Mathew in the head rendering him unconscious and he never woke up. The accident occurred on Saturday and he passed on Wednesday.
