Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alice Mooney Newsome, Statesboro; two daughters, Miss Dorothy Newsome, Statesboro, and Mrs. Ed Anderson, Statesboro; one son, Thomas Lesley Newsome Jr., Statesboro; one brother, W.R. Newsome, Statesboro; five sisters, Mrs. A.C. Mikell, Mrs. W.F. Lee, Mrs. Lloyd Brown, Miss Mae Newsome, all of Statesboro, and Mrs. Ava Lawrimore of Columbia, S.C.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. from the residence with Rev. William Kitchens Jr. officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery. Barnes Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
