Catherine C. Cooper was the daughter of Jenkin H. Cooper and Metta Templeton. Former member of the North Star Lodge of Wichita, KS. She was a retired newborn Nurse's Aid and worked at the St. France Regional Medical Center, in Wichita, KS. She was happily married to Clifford Edgar Morton for 42 years. They have family spread across the United States ... Three sons who are still living including grandson with children of their own today. Her favorite hobby was doing family research, reading, a little sewing but her best past time was being with family and visiting her grandchildren.

Memories of a daughter-in-law,
My mother in-law ... you may have known her as "Charline" or "Mom". Mom Morton was the first person I soon learned (as a newly married woman) how to be there for her family! I know this because, she was there for me too! When she visited us, we would set up talking for hours about anything or everything if possible. A few of those nights ended setting up watching my sons if one or both were becoming ill during those earler primary school years. To this day, I remmber times where I was kind of young ... by her experiences as a mother and woman of the times ha! Yet, she gave presents to any daily activities. If I had to work in the kitchen she was there beside me or if I had another project she was there with me despite the level of exsperance ha! Never ... feared to step up or asked when I needed help! A very proud mother of a three sons; C.W, A.L & B.H. Morton at various times served in the Navy as their father a short time in WWII. Mom became my co-pilot when trying to drive in a new town alone, even though at times we got lost "alot anyway" ha! Mom Morton became a friend, mentor in genealogy and a 2nd mother giving me the gift of companionship and her time during my maturing years. She was, the one who showed me patients and the importance of doing genealogy research. Mom was able to compile a good portion of her Cooper family research in a book, and 3 generations of her husbands Morton's book. Her research work will remain to be the foundation for this Morton family research. Her spirit is with those who knew her and it doesn't matter if she wanted it that way or how it ended up. Her memory and spirit is my anchor, through my challenges in my own Courtney family research. "She knew" just how to give unconditional Love, JICM
