Carol Ann Marie Walters Calaman Bedford, 69, of Bedford Corners, Forksville Pa., passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2011 in the Skilled Nursing Unit of Memorial Hospital, Towanda.
Carol was born on April 2, 1942 in Scranton, Pa., a daughter of the late Lewis and Julia Sweeney Walters.
Carol and Harold were married on May 4, 1996 in St. Peter's Church. She worked throughout the area as an LPN working with the elderly patients at area nursing homes.
She was a member of St. Peter's Church in Elkland, a member of the Ladies Guild, and a member of the B.E.F. Club. She was an avid crafter and enjoyed cooking, gardening and canning. She loved music and dancing, and just enjoying life and being with people.
Carol is survived by her husband Harold, at home; her four children and spouses: David and Kay Calaman of Powell, Pa., Gary and Jeannette Calaman of Monroeton, Pa., Mike Calaman of Monroeton Pa., and Chris and Jeneanne Calaman of Powell, Pa.; grandchildren: Darren, Sierra, Akeem, Vanessa, Khabeera, Roxanne, Rachael, Robyn, Daniel, Katelyn, Chelsie, Jazlynn, Mariah and Mya Calaman, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings Mary Walters, Donald Walters, Jack Walters, Lois Nolan, Paul Walters, and Buddy Walters; and a grandson, Jeremy Calaman.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in St. Peter's Church in Elkland.
Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Elkland, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Peter's Church, Forksville, PA 18616, in Carol's memory.
