H. Lorena Boysen, 79, of Morning Sun, more recently a resident at Wapello Nursing and Care Center, died Saturday morning, October 12, 1996, at Muscatine General Hospital.
Born March 27, 1917, at Cairo, Iowa, she was the daughter of Harry and Hazel Jones Fletcher. On February 23, 1937, she married Albert C. Boysen at Cairo. He died October 15, 1965.
Mrs. Boysen was a homemaker. She had worked at Kingsbury Inn, the Capitol Cafe, the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant and for several years at Colonial Manor at Columbus Junction.
She had been a member of Cairo Evangelical Church and Wapello VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She had been active as a 4H leader and with Louisa County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include one daughter, Hazel Anderson of Columbus Junction; two sons, Harold E. Boysen of Morning Sun and Larry Boysen of Wapello; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Humphreys of Columbus Junction and Verlee Stewart of Burlington; and two brothers, Ronald Fletcher of Grants, N.M., and Feryl Fletcher of Los Angeles, Ca.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, a great-grandson; three sisters, two brothers and special friend.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Dudgeon McCulley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Eric Oliver officiation. Burial will be at Columbus City Cemetery.
