The son of Albert and Lorena Fletcher Boysen, he was born on October 4, 1937 in Cairo, Iowa. After graduating from Wapello Community School, he joined the US Army and served from 1960-1965 as a mechanic.
Harold married Anna Ford on August 4, 1968 at the Louisa Center Church. He worked for Rath Packing Corporation until they closed and then went to work for Heinz until he retired.
His passions were hunting for arrowheads, flintknapping, hunting deer, nature, flowers, and his family. He enjoyed teaching people how to make arrowheads. Harold was heavily involved in 4H and was one of the founding members of Hawkeye State Archaeological Society. He loved showing people his arrowheads that he found and could talk for hours about rocks!
Harold will be dearly missed by his son, David (Dani) Boysen of rural Morning Sun; his sister, Hazel Anderson of Winfield; his sister-in-law, Mary Boysen of Wapello; and his two grandchildren, Sierra and Alex Boysen. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Annie; his brother, Larry; an infant brother; and brother-in-law, Gene Anderson.
The funeral ceremony for Harold Boysen will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello with Pastor Dan Doolin officiating. Burial will follow at the Fulton Cairo Cemetery, rural Morning Sun followed by a luncheon at the Solid Rock Baptist Church in Wapello.
The family will meet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home.
Memorial gifts will benefit the Hawkeye State Archeological Society.
