"John Cooper, an old-time resident of Geyserville, passed away March 27th, after a lingering illness. Mr. Cooper was born in Covington, Kentucky, on December 23d, 1833, and crossed the plains with an ox team in 1852, to the mines. He was married in 1858 to Miss Hannah Murray of Petaluma, and was the father of fifteen children, thirteen of whom are living."

"In the matter of the estate of the late John Cooper on Monday, Harriet Cooper applied to the Superior Court for letters of administration on his estate, which is valued at $2,250. J. T. Coffman is the attorney for the estate."
