Mary, her husband, Ralph Harmon Bassett, son William and daughter, Mary, all died within days of each other in 1861 of diphtheria. Her oldest daughter, Lucinda, had died earlier in 1849 when only 7 months old. Most of the Bassett graves have been re-interred here at Quabbin Memorial Park after their original graves were inundated by the creation of Quabbin Reservoir. The Town of Enfield, Ma was dis-incorporated and literally torn down along with Dana, Greenwich and Prescott MA in the early 1930's to create the reservoir.

Gravesite Details

One of thousands of individuals removed from their original graves in Enfield, Greenwich, Prescott and Dana Massachusetts when the towns were inundated to create the Quabbin Reservoir. Quabbin was built to supply drinking water mainly for Boston.
