Elmer T. Peters
PETERS, Elmer T. - Age 88, of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, entered into the Presence of his Lord Jesus on Wednesday, July 2, 1997. He was born May 26, 1909 in Bellechester, Minnesota, son of Louis W. and Susan A. (Conrad) Peters. He moved with his family as a child to Okarche, Oklahoma, and in 1919 to Chewelah, Washington. He and Ruth Seger were united in marriage on June 11, 1934 in Chewelah. In 1954 they moved to Myrtle Creek, which has been home since. Elmer worked at Hanna Nickel Mine, retiring in 1975. Elmer was a family man and his life revolved around God, his family and church. He also enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, fishing and camping. He was a member of Winston Foursquare Gospel Center. He is survived by, his wife of 63 years, Ruth Peters of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, two sons, Gordon Peters and his wife, Eloulse of Myrtle Creek, Fred Peters and his wife, Pat of Merlin, Oregon, one daughter, Jeanette 'Bobi' Reinhart and her husband, Chuck of Myrtle Creek, six grandchildren, Brad Reinhart and his wife, Carol of Myrtle Creek, Lynne Reinhart of Oakland, Oregon, Steve Reinhart of Lancaster, California, Lance Reinhart of Myrtle Creek, Valerie Barsness of Springfield, Oregon, Cheri Nelson of Springfield. Great-grandchildren include, Nathaniel, Zachary, Jonathan and Kyle Reinhart, also Bryce and Jessi Sandford and Gordon 'Tucker' Meisner. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Kolbeck and a brother, Louis Peters. Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 am., Monday, July 7, 1997 at Winston Foursquare Gospel Center. Officiating will be Pastor Steve Smart. Viewing will be Sunday, July 6, 1997 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at TAYLOR'S FAMILY CHAPEL in Winston, Oregon. Interment will be at the Roseburg Memorial Cemetery in Roseburg, Oregon. Contributions in memory of Elmer can be made to the Foursquare Church, for missionary work, and left at the services or funeral home.
