Ruth Lillian Seger was born May 19, 1917 in Spokane, Washington, daughter of Robert R. and Agnes C. (Johnson) Seger. She was united in marriage to Elmer T. Peters, son of Louis and Susan (Conrad) Peters, on June 11, 1934 in Chewelah, Washington. They lived in Chewelah until 1954, when they moved to Myrtle Creek. Ruth was employed at Western Auto in Myrtle Creek from 1959 to 1981. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. When she was young, she enjoyed softball, and was a pitcher on her team. She loved baking and was famous for her huckleberry pies. Ruth also enjoyed outings in the forest with her family and friends, and traveling. She and Elmer fulfilled a dream of theirs when they traveled to Israel in 1991. Ruth was active in Aglow International and hosted a weekly prayer meeting in her home for nearly ten years.
