Funeral Services For Art Norris, 85
Pastor Dan Wanders officiated Saturday at 2 p.m. funeral rites in the United Methodist church of Chester for Arthemas Norris, 85, who died Jan. 4 in Chester. Pallbearers were Lawrence Layton, Art Kaiser Jr., Clifford Hanson, Jr., Jack Wright, Clarke McBride, and Richard Overlie. Burial was in the Chester cemetery.
Norris was born Dec. 9. 1886, in Illinois. He came to the Chester area in 1909 and farmed eight miles south of town. He also worked on the bridge gang for the Great Northern for,several years, and was a carpenter and painter in Chester. For the past five years, Norris had worked in the sheriff's office.
