Passed away October 4, 2008 in Spokane Valley, WA. Darlene was born on June 18, 1936 in Alexandria, MN. She was one of 11 children of Otto and Emma (Jobe) Freitag. She married and had four children before moving to Spokane, WA in 1959; there the couple had three more children. The marriage ended in divorce and on February 15, 1986 she married Ronald Cate. Darlene worked for Deaconess Medical Center for over 15 years. She and Ron attended Mt Spokane Church, she loved all crafts and traveling. Darlene loved her family and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Ronald Cate of Spokane Valley, WA; four sons: Jerry (Sherry) Botner - Spokane, WA,Wayne (Christy) Botner - Spokane, WA, Brian (Candy) Botner - Airway Heights, WA, and Doug Botner - Glenwood, MN; three daughters; Dee (Kurt) Gobel-Marysville, WA, Pam (Bill) Poffenroth - Spokane, WA, Kathy Botner - Marysville, WA; five stepchildren; three sisters: Eldorene Ellertson- Alexandria, MN, Eldonna Genrich - Alexandria, MN, Sharon Senneka - Minneapolis, MN; two brothers: Orris Freitag - Blain, MN, and Orval (Gayle) Freitag - Glennwood, MN; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers and one sister.
