Andrew Jackson Bliss, 88, of 6006 Old Cluster Springs Road, South Boston died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
He was born in Halifax County on May 9, 1923, a son of the late Thomas Haywood Bliss and Sula Hughes Bliss and was married to Pokie Novella Bliss.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, James Bliss of Alton, Dennis Bliss of Roxboro, N.C., and Edward Bliss of South Boston; one brother, George Bliss of South Boston; two sisters, Nannie Hazelwood of Clover and Shirley Gregory of Holly Springs, N.C.
A funeral was held Saturday at Powell Funeral Home. Burial followed in Clover Cemetery.
